Can I purchase new DraftSight Standard license?

New DraftSight Standard license is no longer available for purchase. DraftSight Standard and Professional have merged to provide more capabilities for our clients.

How can I add more licenses to my existing subscription?

Today we recommend starting a new subscription for the additional licenses you need now. While we are working to provide pro-rated co-termed additional licenses we don’t yet support adding additional licenses to an existing subscription.

Alternatively, if you would like your additional license to be added to your existing subscription you can respond to your renewal reminder email sent 1 month before the subscription is set to renew and our commercial partner Cleverbridge will manually update the subscription at that time for you to include the additional licenses.

How can I get support for DraftSight?

DraftSight Professional\Premium: customers of these products are entitled to support for issues relating to the software installation and activation of the license only.

Problems can be reported to our 3DS DraftSight Support team using the "Submit a Request" option available in the Contact Us section here: This will create a Service Request for your issue.

It is necessary to enter, or create, a 3DEXPERIENCE ID to access the webform. After submitting the issue, you will receive an email with a link that will open the Service Request in the 3DSupport app. This app will allow you to fully manage your service requests in one place.

I’m a Mac or Linux user, can I use DraftSight?

DraftSight 2020 will support the latest Mac OS, Catalina.

The prior Linux Beta version concluded on January 1st, 2020. Meanwhile we have been working on a more flexible and scalable solution for customers, DraftSight Cloud.

How do I renew DraftSight?

When you purchase DraftSight online, you are purchasing a subscription that automatically renews after the purchased term expires. One month before your renewal you will receive a notice regarding how to pay for your renewal. You can opt out of the automatic renewal by managing your subscription which you can do from your purchase confirmation.

Can I keep using DraftSight after I cancel my Subscription?

If you cancel your subscription it stops the auto-billing for your renewal.

This means you will not be notified or billed for your renewal as you are signaling that you do not wish to renew it. When you purchase you buy a 12-month term license that enables you to use DraftSight and activate each license key purchased on at most 2 machines concurrently.

Each license can be transferred from one machine to another by first deactivating and then reactivating as long as the license is valid.

How can I perform a clean re-installation of DraftSight on a Windows computer?

Please follow the steps below to perform a clean reinstallation of the DraftSight software. 
It is advisable to Deactivate your DraftSight license from the DraftSight '?' menu before following these steps. 

The following steps should only be performed by a suitably qualified person to avoid causing problems on the PC. 

  1. Log in to Windows using an account that has Administrator rights.
  2. Open the Windows ‘Control Panel’ App. To do this, type ‘Control Panel’ in the Search field in the Windows Task Bar.

How can I restore DraftSight to default Settings on Windows?

Please follow these steps in order to return DraftSight to use the default settings:

  1. Ensure that DraftSight is not running.
  2. In Windows, open a File Explorer window and browse to this location: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming. If the AppData folder is not visible, it can be shown using the folder options in the File Explorer options :  View > Hidden Items
  3. Locate the folder called ‘DraftSight’.
  4. Select it with the mouse and then click the right mouse button and select ‘Rename’. Type a new folder name : DraftSight_old
  5. Restart DraftSight.

The next time you launch DraftSight, it will generate fresh user settings.

Is there a tool to manage the deployment of DraftSight Enterprise to multiple users?

Yes. The DraftSight Deployment Wizard provides this functionality. The tool is provided by the DraftSight Technical Support team. DraftSight Enterprise and DraftSight Mechanical customers should contact the partner from whom they purchased DraftSight who will raise a Service Request on their behalf. Customers who have purchased directly from Dassault Systèmes should use the webform or 3DSupport App to create a service request:

How to restore DraftSight to default settings on an Apple Mac computer?

  1. Make sure that DraftSight is not running.
  2. Navigate to location:  /Users/ [USERNAME]/Library/Preferences and rename the folder "DraftSight" to "DraftSight_old".
  3. Restart DraftSight.

When DraftSight starts, new user settings will be created.

If you cannot locate the 'Preferences' folder, it might be hidden. To show the folder press keys Command+Shift+> on the location panel.
